Jennifer Houston

Jennifer Houston has been in education for over twenty years. She started her career in Las Vegas, Nevada, teaching 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade. She moved to Texas in 2006 and has been teaching 5th grade until opening up Wagner in 2017.  She now enjoys helping middle school students, currently teaching ILC.

Mrs. Houston has a Bachelor of Arts from California Lutheran University.   She graduated with a Master's Degree in Special Education with a specialty in Autism in August 2020.  She enjoys having flexible classroom space, collaborating with other teachers, and building strong relationships with her students. Mrs. Houston believes Wagner Middle School is the perfect place to nurture her belief that instruction should be individualized to meet each child's needs.

Outside of school, Ms. Houston enjoys spending time with her two daughters (her youngest, Rebecca, now attends Angelo State University), her husband of more than 28 years, and her dogs Lacey and Savannah. She also enjoys gardening, sewing, blogging, and crafting.
